Pre-Columbian Textile Fragment, Chancay, Peru, c. 1200-1400 AD, tapestry woven wool and cotton warp band with fringe, decorated with running puma figures, mounted and framed, with some losses to the ends which are folded over on the mount, lg. of exposed band 32 1/2, wd. 4 1/4 in.
Provenance: Bertram J. Malenka collection, Belmont, Massachusetts; obtained from Edward L. Shaw, Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1976.
