Bwa Plank Mask, Burkina Faso, with circular face, with pierced, open mouth, concentric circles for eyes, and a central, arching, beak-like projection from the forehead, beneath a large rectangular plank carved in low relief with geometric zigzag motifs, surmounted by an upward-pointing crescent, with encrusted pigments, on a metal stand, (native repair to beak), ht. 42 in.
