Diquis Gold Pendant Figure, Costa Rica, c. 800-1500 AD, figure of a man, possibly singing, with right hand on chest and left arm raised, wearing a hat, with suspension loop on top of the head, gold content 5.2 grams at 63 %, ht. 1 1/8 in.
Provenance: Collected by George Washington Goethals (1858-1928),while working on the Panama canal; then by descent through the family.
