Barbedienne Grand Tour Bronze Model of Mercury, France, after Giovanni da Bologna's Flying Mercury modeled holding a caduceus and supported by the head of Aeolus, the wind god, mounted on a stepped and polished slate plinth, inscribed foundry mark, ht. 20 in.
Estimate $600-800
Plinth with several chips, large and small and with one lower panel replaced. The bronze is in very good condition throughout with no evidence of any damages or restorations.
