Note: Elliott studied at the Detroit Institute of Arts and Cranbrook Academy of Art earning an MFA in Ceramics and Painting in 1955. She taught at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1966 to 1971. She later turned to studio work and became an influential figure in San Francisco's fiber arts community. She is known for her baskets made from innovative materials such as cloth, bark, paper, twine, and zippers.
