Description:
Three Wedgwood Lilac Jasper Dip Items, England, 19th century, each with applied white classical figures and foliate borders, a covered vase with Bacchus masks and central medallions bordered with high relief laurel and berry festoons, ht. 10; an octagonal shaped teapot and cover with classical medallions flanked by trophy drops, lg. 8 3/4; and a sarcophagus-form inkstand surmounted by two urn-form inkpots, central cartouche depicting the Marriage of Cupid and Psyche, overall ht. 8, wd. 6 5/8 in.; impressed marks.
Literature: A blue jasper example of the inkstand is illustrated in Wedgwood, Volume I, by Reilly, p. 653, plate 996.
Estimate $400-600
Vase and cover: Cover likely a marriage; missing handles; one bead to rim reglued.
Teapot: Cover with repaired rim chip and a slight chip under the rim. Pot with restorations to handle, spout side of body and base.
Inkstand: Restored throughout to urns and inkstand.
