Needlework Adam and Eve Sampler "A.J. Risdale," probably England, 1849, the largely pictorial sampler worked in threads on a fine linen ground, the figures flanking the apple tree around which the serpent curls, with flowers, cherubs, baskets of fruit, birds, and urns surrounding them, all above a biblical quotation and the maker's name and date, and flowering vine border, 11 3/4 x 14 1/4 in., framed.
