Carved Walnut Dower Chest, Pennsylvania or New Jersey, late 18th century, with molded top opening to a lidded till and drawer, the dovetailed case with reeded and beaded band above thumb-molded drawers, all on bracket feet centering a reeded fan drop pendant, replaced brasses, old surface, ht. 28 3/4, wd. 48, dp. 23 in.

This dower chest is well made and in very nice condition. The base is full height and has not been ended out. The brasses were likely replaced c. 1920s, and the lock in the center drawer is gone.
