Grain-painted and Paint-decorated Tall Case Clock, Riley Whiting, Winchester, Connecticut, c. 1820, the wooden works housed in a grain-painted case simulating exotic wood and inlays, the dial identifying the maker with calendar and seconds hands surrounded by colorful floral details and gilding, (some restoration), ht. 88 in.
The clock is colorful and appealing. The case paint looks good with little if any repaint. The fret has been expertly restored.
