Collection of maps depicting predominantly the Mediterranean region, including a colored c. 1540 Sebastian Munster Ptolemaic map of the region between the Black Sea and Caspian Sea, a bird's-eye view of Carthage when it was destroyed by Scipio Aemilianus in 607 with points of interest noted, and a 1618 map of Mountes Luna and river valley as described by Jesuit traveler Pedro Paez, largest 30 1/2 x 21 1/4 in.
