Two Blue and White Vases, China, Kangxi style, baluster form, one depicting scholars at various activities against a landscape with banana trees, some details in underglaze gray; and one depicting a mountain range with river and hermit scholars, each with two patterned bands around the neck, with carved wood stands, ht. to 17 1/8 in.
Estimate $400-600
both with chips and cracks to mouth rim, glazing flaws with pockmarks particularly to the interior of one with river, one with a hairline crack on base, one stand with a crack on top.
