Signed and dated "F. Van Severdonck ft. 1871" l.l., identified and signed in an inscription on the reverse.
Oil on panel, 7 x 9 3/8 in. (17.6 x 23.7 cm),framed.
Condition: Surface grime.
Estimate $300-500

Framed dimensions are 12 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 1 3/4 in.

Although the presentation plaque names the artist as J. Van Severdonck (for Joseph Van Severdonck),this appears to be a misreading of the first initial of the signature.

Two narrow horizontal lines of surface abrasions to the l.r. edge, visible in slanted light.
