Canvasboard with a French art supplier's stamp on the reverse.

Under UV examination, some small raised dots may be seen scattered at l.c. edge and one on the linen liner, which we believe are accretions rather than retouch. In raking light one can see some other small dots/impressions in the center that do not fluoresce but might be varnish inconsistencies/bubbles. We also noticed a horizontal line that crosses the composition at the mid-point but is not continuous. This does not seem to be a scratch or other damage. It may the part of the canvas weave, which is slightly irregular and visible in other places in raking light, or perhaps the artist gently scored the composition for some reason.
