Note: Kurt Matzdorf was an internationally renowned silversmith and founder of the State University of New York College at New Paltz Metals Program. He is known for his Judaica, particularly ceremonial pieces. When he and his wife Alice moved to New Paltz in 1957, they became lifelong friends with the family of the consignor. This jewelry was commissioned by the consignor's father as a birthday gift for his mother in 1976.
