Paint-decorated Box, possibly New England, 19th century, the lid opens to a well with elevated compartment, painted overall green with borders and pinstriping in black, red, and yellow, all over an earlier blue, ht. 4 1/2, wd. 10 3/4, dp. 7 3/4 in.
Provenance: Purchased from the private collection of Ted Heyward (Yankee Smuggler).
