Two-sided Painted Checkers and Backgammon Game Board, America, late 19th century, the checkers side with red squares and scrollwork against a pumpkin-colored background, the backgammon side with red and green arrows against a pumpkin-colored background, applied edge molding, ht. 20 3/4, wd. 16 5/8 in.
Estimate $600-800
surface and edges with thin applied layer of gesso to the wood under the original paiunted decoration. Minor chips and losses to that gesso and paint. No evidence of any repainted areas.
