Dmitry Fedorovich Chumakov (Russian, 1913-c. 1980s)
Klyazma River Scene with Bridge. Signed in Cyrillic, possibly "D. Chumakov" l.l., signed similarly on the reverse, titled on the stretcher, and identified on a gallery label from the Moscow Union of Artists also affixed to the reverse. Oil on canvas, 14 3/4 x 20 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Good.
Provenance: A Massachusetts estate.
N.B. D.F. Chumakov was a Moscow painter, designer, panorama artist, and teacher. He graduated from the Krasnodar Art College (1928-1931) and the Moscow Institute for Advanced Studies of Artists (1934-1937). He was a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, whose label is affixed to the reverse.
