Six Oak and Walnut Chairs, high-back carved walnut side chair, crest rail carved with crown and leaves, caned back and seat, spiral-turned stiles, block- and spiral-turned front legs, ht. 43, seat ht. 17, wd. 19 1/2, dp. 20; high-back carved walnut side chair, crest rail carved with putto and flowers, caned back and seat set in floral frames, front stretcher with putto, ht. 46, seat ht. 18 1/2, wd. 21, dp. 26 1/2; high-back carved walnut open armchair, crest rail with putto supporting a floral basket, caned back set in openwork frame carved with crowns and flowers, spiral-turned stiles with vasiform finials, front stile with putto and basket, ht. 45 1/2, seat ht. 18 1/2, wd. 21, dp. 26 1/2; slat-back oak side chair, ball-turned stiles with ball finials, curved crest rail, back with four slats, single-board seat, block- and ball-turned front legs, ht. 44, seat ht. 18, wd. 18, dp. 19; carved oak panel-back open armchair, shaped crest rail carved with a star flanked by stylized leaves, carved date "1671," curved armrests with turned armrest supports and front legs, base stretchers, engraved metal plaque "Jacobean Chair dated 1671 was removed from Linlithigow Palace during the fire of 1746," ht. 38, seat ht. 15, wd. 22, dp. 22 1/4 in.
