Condition: Laid down on wood panel, minor retouch, probable skinning, old repairs, varnish discoloration.
N.B. This painting relates to a series of works by Andries Both and Jan Both that illustrate the five senses. There is a similar composition now attributed to Bartholomeus Molenaer in the collection of Uppsala University in Sweden.
