Signed or inscribed "JSteen" u.r., inscribed "J Steen" on the reverse, identified on a presentation plaque.
Oil on panel, 9 3/4 x 7 5/8 in. (25.0 x 19.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Probable old retouch u.r., fine craquelure, heavily varnished.
Provenance: The estate of George Way.

Framed dimensions are 14 3/8 x 12 1/4 x 1 5/8 in.
Old unidentified Spanish auction label and a fragmentary label from Christie's affixed to the frame.
RKD records indicate that this painting was in a Christie's auction in New York, January 12, 1994, as Lot No 209, and again on October 5, 1995 as Lot No. 115.
