Salvador Vidal Bentwood Rocker, Cancun, Mexico, c. 1988, Chechen wood, with certificate of authenticity, numbered "010," ht. 38 1/2, wd. 22 3/4, dp. 39 in.
Note: Also known as Caribbean Rosewood, Palo de Rosa, and Poisonwood, the rare Chechen tree is protected by Mexican Federal law. The wood used for this chair was legally harvested from the jungles of Quintana Roo from trees downed by Hurricane Gilbert in 1988.
