Signed and dated "Leslie P. Thompson 1922" l.r., titled on the stretcher, identified on a label from Grand Central Art Galleries, New York, and with labels from Gallery at Four India, Nantucket, and Pierce Galleries, Inc., Hingham, Massachusetts, all affixed to the frame backing.
Oil on canvas, 40 x 32 in. (101.6 x 81.3 cm),in a dated Thulin frame.
Condition: Subtle surface grime, craquelure.
Provenance: The artist; descended through the family of the artist to William Thompson, Marshfield, Massachusetts; J. Hagan; a private collection, Massachusetts; The Gallery at Four India Street, Nantucket, Massachusetts; a private collection.

Stenciled "EX: P.A.F.A." in black on the stretcher. Also with shadows/evidence of old exhibition labels now missing on the stretcher
Very minor pinpoint dots of retouch scattered in background. Stable craquelure primarily to the sides of the composition. Texture of canvas weave noticeable in raking light. Minor stretcher bar marks. Vertical staining to the reverse of the canvas.
