Description:
Léonard Tsuguhara Foujita (Japanese/French, 1886-1968)
Profil de femme, 1930, outside of the edition of 90 (Buisson, II.30.48). Unsigned, inscribed "Epreuve de presentation" in pencil u.l. Etching with roulette printed in blue on paper, plate size 16 x 14 1/8 in., framed. Condition: Prevalent toning, not examined out of frame.
Provenance: A private western Massachusetts collection.

Out of the frame the sheet is Japan paper and measures 21 1/4 x 23 inches. It is hinged to its facing mat near the upper corners recto. The image is strongly light-struck. The margns have pencil annotations, glue residue, and thinned spots (these appear to be areas that may have been glue to a previous mat?) all on recto. The frame measures 22 1/2 x 24 1/4 x 1 in.
