This auction begins with fine art prints and multiples from the 19th century to the present day. We offer an especially strong group of Pop Art by Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Indiana, Jasper Johns, and Andy Warhol. Other selections are extremely diverse, and include Ivan Albright, Helen Frankenthaler, Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henry Moore and Shepard Fairey among others.
The auction then continues with photographs highlighting Modern masters who altered the field of photography with their perspectives, subjects, and innovations: mentors and their successful protégés, such as Horst P. Horst, George Hoyningen-Huene, Edward Weston, Tina Modotti, Ruth Bernhard, and Berenice Abbott. Complete and partial portfolios by Brassaï, André Kertész, and Danny Lyon are also among the sale’s top lots. The auction has a strong representation of documentary, figural, and landscape photography throughout the early modern period to the contemporary.
