Two Wm. J. Young Surveyor's Compasses, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, both lacquered brass instruments with 5 1/2-in. dia. dials marked "Wm .J. Young/Maker/Philadelphia," one also marked "3058," blued-steel needles with needle lifters on underside, outkeepers, circular levels, sighting vanes, one with tripod mount, housed in their original fitted cases.
