Pair of Renaissance Revival Carved Walnut Side Chairs, late 19th/early 20th century, wood back with arched crest rails carved with female heads and griffins, central panel depicting partly draped female figures flanked by garlands, partial over-rail faux-leather-upholstered seat rails which are carved with floral motifs, carved front legs, ht. 47 1/2, seat ht. 19 1/2, wd. 20 1/2, dp. 25 in.

Note: By repute, formerly in the collection of George Davidson Todd (1856-1929),mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, in the late 19th century.
