Condition: Puncture to l.l. corner, water damage with canvas deformation and varnish bloom along lower edge and l.l. side, craquelure, minor surface grime.
N.B. The work on which this copy is based, Descent from the Cross, is the central panel of a triptych painting by Peter Paul Rubens, created in 1612-1614. It still hangs at its original home, the Cathedral of Our Lady, Antwerp, Belgium. The triptych portrays the Visitation, the Descent from the Cross, and the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple.
