Photo Album, 1898, Manhattan, Long Island, New Jersey, and Martha's Vineyard. Oblong format album containing approximately 100 photographs featuring the home and vacation life of a family whose name ends in the letter W who lived at 69 West 93rd Street in Manhattan, and vacationed at Manhattan Beach; Long Beach, Long Island; and Martha's Vineyard; and who may have also owned property in Morristown, New Jerey, as well, including family photographs of parents, the mother (and likely compiler of the album) identified only as KBW, her husband Archie CW, and their son Pelham, many beach scenes, duck hunting, shots of dogs, a pig, shots taken in Central Park, several photographs of Native American Indian and Martha's Vineyard resident Joseph Mingo (b. 1826),identified as "Mingo" in the caption; a photograph taken from a Manhattan-bound train on the Brooklyn Bridge, and an image of the store front of Obrig Camera Co., 165 & 167 Broadway, all taken in 1898; binding structure perished, 10 x 7 in., sizes of individual photos vary.
