Timothy Bigelow, from his Friend, and humble servant, The Author," with an engraved portrait of Thomas inside front board, illustrated with three engraved plates, bound in full contemporary speckled sheepskin, red and green labels to spine, leather brittle, sunning to spine and front board, marginal water staining, [A]4, B-Z4, 2A-2Z4, 3A-3N4 [3A and 3B transposed], 8 1/2 x 5 in.
The recipient, Timothy Bigelow the younger (1767-1821) was a Harvard graduate and Massachusetts attorney. He also served as the Massachusetts Speaker of the House and was a founding member of the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester.
