Description:

Musette de Cour, France, 18th Century, unmarked, the turned ivory drone with five carved ivory shuttles, the turned ivory chanters with pewter keywork, the grand chalumeau double reed, the leather bag with later bellows.

N.B. In 1965, Lewis E. Batson's article entitled "The Scale of the Highland Bagpipe" was published in two parts in Piping Times.
