Collection of Twenty-four Seamers Housed in a Paint-decorated Chestnut Box, America, last half 19th century, the seamers carved mostly of hardwood with two of whalebone, with various designs and sizes including faceted, crosshatched, geometric, and star-shaped carving, lg. 2 3/4 to 7 1/2, the box with gilt edges and the top painted with a figure of a sperm whale, box ht. 4 1/2, wd. 11 1/2, dp. 10 1/2 in.
