Carved and Inlaid Mahogany Tilt-top Candlestand, possibly the work of Stephen Whipple, Danvers, Massachusetts, c. 1810, the elongated octagonal top with banded and string-inlaid border on a reeded vase- and ring-turned post ending in cyma-curve carving, and tripod base of shaped legs ending in spade feet, old refinish, ht. 27 1/2, wd. 16 3/4, dp. 24 in.
