2nd Model Maynard Carbine, c. 1863-65, .50 caliber, serial number 9643, walnut stock, steel fittings, case hardened receiver marked on one side "MANUFACTURED BY/MASS. ARMS CO/CHICOPEE FALLS." and on the other "EDWARD MAYNARD/PATENTEE/MAY. 27. 1851/DEC. 6. 1859," breech marked on the left side "G.W.S.," barrel lg. 20, overall lg. 36 5/8 in.

Stock is in very good condition, receiver still has some light color, and the barrel retains about 90% blue, the action functions properly and the bore is crisp and bright with no pitting.
