Jabez Baldwin No. 2402 Sterling Silver Pair-cased Watch and Box, Salem, Massachusetts, c. 1804-19, arabic numeral porcelain dial (damage) with brass hands, silver case with hallmarks reading "George III Sterling Silver/Birmingham, 1805-06/William Ryley maker," full-plate, key-wind, verge escapement, chain fusee movement engraved "Jabez Baldwin/Salem/N2402," with finely pierced balance cock and silvered regulating dial, with original labeled finger-lapped seam shipping box, label reading in part "Jabez Baldwin/Clock & Watch Maker/Salem," handwritten watch paper with a line of descent in case back.
Note: According to the case back note this watch was originally owned by Nathaniel Little, who was born in 1745 and died in 1839, and was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.
