Young & Sons Mining Transit, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, last quarter 19th century, 9 1/2-in. scope with level mounted below, canted "A"-frames with vertical circle with folding vernier scale and fine adjustment knob, 5 1/4-in. horizontal dial marked "Young & Sons/Patented Aug 17, 1875/5405/Philadelphia," opposing internal silvered scales and verniers, mounted to a four-screw adjustable base, housed in its original fitted case with label reading in part "Glendon Iron Company/Easton, PA."
