William Helfricht Surveyor's Compass, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, mid-19th century, 6 1/2-in. dia. engraved silvered dial with acanthus-style leaf representing north and reading "Warranted" and "Wm. Helfricht Maker/Philadelphia," dual outkeepers at north, and a pair of sighting vanes, housed in an associated veneered box, lg. 16 in.
