Andrew Meneely's Sons Vernier Compass, West Troy, New York, c. 1853-60, 6 1/2-in. dia. engraved silvered dial marked as above, with fleur-de-lis representing north, dual spirit levels and vernier, 7 1/2-in. sighting vanes, all housed in an associated walnut box, lg. 15 1/2 in.
Note: According to Bill Skerritt, the construction of this compass indicates that this compass was made by W. & L.E. Gurley for Meneely.
