Mahogany Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Concord, Massachusetts, gilt acorn finial above the turned brass bezel, roman numeral painted iron dial, brass side arms, gilded rope-turned frames enclosing the reverse-painted tablets, original lower tablet depicting a Roman chariot scene, eight-day time-only movement regulated by a brass-faced pendulum and lead weight, ht. 37 in.

original lower tablet has lead inscriptions with family provenance, weight baffle also has etched inscription from family from Dedham, MA 1845. Original dial, gold inner circle repainted, numerals enhanced, throat glass old but not original, lower tablet original but with small losses, pedestal is a reproduction, finial appears original but has broken dowel.
