Ives Reeded Pillar & Scroll Shelf Clock, Bristol, Connecticut, c. 1825, the scroll-top case with reeded columns and carved capitals flanking the full-length door with glazed upper section over the painted wooden dial with roman numerals and gilded spandrels, lower door section with looking glass and painted tablet, printed maker's label inside stating in part "This clock invented by Joseph Ives and manufactured by Merriman Birge & Co.," wood thirty-hour time and strike movement with roller pinions, countwheel strike, two iron weights, and pendulum ht. 37 1/2 in.

Maker's label appears to be a copy of an original label. Lower tablet has much paint loss. Scratch in mirror silvering.
