Matisse Sketching, 1944, a later printing. Signed "Henri Cartier-Bresson" in ink or marker l.r., artist's dry stamp l.l., label from Irving Galleries, Palm Beach, Florida, on the backing paper. Warm toned gelatin silver print, sight size 10 3/4 x 15 in. (27.3 x 38.1 cm),framed.
Condition: Not examined out of frame.
N.B. Matisse is pictured in his home, Villa le Rêve, Vence, Alpes-Maritimes, France, in February 1944.

Frame dimensions: 21 1/4 x 25 1/2 inches. Few extremely minor surface nicks to the emulsion layer in the l.l. and u.l. quadrants, the warm tone of the photo is likely due to residual sulfur leftover after washing, the print suggests the negative has been retouched.
