Pair of Mixed Metal Gilt-bronze and Gilt-silver Vases, Japan, Meiji period, octagonal oviform with two chrysanthemum roundel "ears," the central frieze decorated with floral designs against a black ground with details carved and inlaid in various gold, silver, shakudo, and copper, four-character mark partially reading "Yoshimi (Gijitsu)," incised on the frieze, ht. 8 1/2 in.
