Alabaster Canopic Jar, Egypt, possibly 400 BC, cylindrical jar slightly tapering at the base, the stopper carved to depict the baboon-headed god Hapi, the head with traces of gilt and paint, overall ht. 17 1/4 in.
Provenance: Descended in a private collection, Wilmington, Massachusetts.
