Hand-stitched and Trapunto Adam and Eve Quilt with Chintz Applique, possibly Vermont, thought to be made by a member of the Sinclair family, c. 1840, the center with the firmament (sun, moon, and stars) surrounded by flowering plants and trees with silhouettes of the figures of Adam and Eve engaged in various activities, surrounded by the serpent, birds, and butterflies, all within a meandering grapevine border, approx. 93 x 88 in.
