Empire-style Mahogany, Mahogany-veneered, and Ormolu-mounted Secretaire a Abattant and a Matching Side Chair, France, 20th century, black granite top, frieze drawer, fall-front with ormolu wreath and birds opens to fitted interior with a long drawer, two shelves, and five short drawers, leather writing surface, three long drawers, all flanked by engaged pilasters topped with ormolu female busts, sides with mounts depicting classically dressed women, set on base with ormolu hairy paw front feet, ht. 54 1/4, writing ht. 29 1/2, wd. 39, dp. 14, and a chair with open back, over-rail upholstery, conforming ormolu decoration, ht. 32 1/4, seat ht. 18 1/2, wd. 18, dp. 17 1/2 in.
