Description:

Pair of Walnut Savonarola Chairs, Italy, mostly 17th century, iron back bars covered in fabric and fringe, round arms with slatted arm supports crossing and joining feet, ht. 27 3/4, seat ht. 17 1/4, wd. 29, dp. 19 in.

Provenance: Property from the Harvard Art Museum, sold to benefit the acquisition fund.
Estimate $700-900

Worming some of which may be artificial, several slatted arm supports replaced, one repaired. Modern velvet fabric. One with cracks to the arm supports.
