Description:

Peter Scott (American)

Family Dinner. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 54 1/2 x 85 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Scattered accretions and rubs, abrasions to l.l. quadrant near corner, surface grime.

Note: Peter Scott is best known for his quirky, eccentric, and witty line, which animates his dense and energetic black-and-white drawings and prints of his personal world - the studio and its paraphernalia, his family, Jamaica Plain street corners, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, where he teaches.

Scott has been shown in America and in Europe, and is represented in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Boston Atheneum, and the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium.
Estimate $500-1,000
