Portraits of Mrs. Samuel Phillips and Samuel Phillips
Unsigned.
Watercolor on paper, 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 in., in gilt frames.
Condition: Portrait of the man has a closed tear on the right side, scattered spotting.

Provenance: Ron Bourgeault Antiques, Hampton, New Hampshire, 1976.

Note: According to a note on the back of the portrait of Mrs. Phillips, she is buried in the Granary Burying Ground, Boston, in the Phillips tomb.
Provenance: The Arthur & Sybil Kern Collection of American Folk Art.
