Carved Hardwood Chair, probably China, late 18th century, the crest centering a shell flanked by bird heads, above pierced stiles ornamented with bird heads, and elaborately carved splat with scrolls, foliate devices, and crested birds, all on a shaped seat with conformingly shaped slip seat joining frontal cabriole legs with face-carved knees and stylized claw-and-ball feet, (repairs),ht. 44, seat ht. 18 1/2 in.
