Carved Maple High Chest of Drawers, Massachusetts, c. 1740-60, the upper section with molded cornice above five graduated drawers, set into lower section of two long drawers, the bottom one with a three-drawer facade centering a fan, on valanced skirt joining four cabriole legs ending in pad feet on high platforms, ht. 71, wd. 37 1/2, dp. 19 in.

there is evidence of old oval brasses in the surface of drawerfronts, but new brasses cover any old holes. There is a long thumbmolding repair to the upper edge of the bottom drawer in the upper section. There are somewhat minor shrinkage cracks to the sides of the case.
