Provenance: Secretariat's horseshoe and hair was collected by the consignor in 1985, when he visited the famed horse's studding grounds in Kentucky. According to the consignor, the hair in this lot was taken from a brush used only by Secretariat's dedicated groom. In the course of conversation with the consignor, the groom also gave the consignor this horseshoe, which had reportedly been worn by Secretariat.
